Hi Judilynn, Jettie, and Marilyn, and all to follow!
Everybody sounds so busy, and the board's been slow...Real life must be getting in everybody's way. I know that's been the case here.
I've been working on some graphics for a friend's web site, the one where we got little Miss Taylor from. They breed and show the most wonderful Shelties. At first I was doing her web sight, then I got sick and had those two surgeries, so I gave her some lessons in html, and she has really blossomed into quite a capable site builder. She doesn't do graphics, though; I still do those. It's nice to get back into PSP; I'm ready to start doing some more tags, siggies, and animations.
My fibro has been acting up something horrible, which makes the computer work hard. My arms, and now my upper legs, hurt so much. It feels like while I'm sleeping, someone is beating me with a baseball bat. My dr. put me on a fibro med, Savella, which usually takes 2 weeks to titrate into one's system, but because my stomach is so sensitive, will take me a month. I do notice that it's helping a little, but not as much as the side effects (MANY trips to the loo) would indicate. I should be feeling no pain. Lord, I'm tired of hurting. I went yesterday to the dr, and he did some poking and prodding, and found that I have bursitis in my shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Fun. SO painful. So I'm starting a 10-day round of Prednisone. He said that not only will I feel better, I will get a nice little burst of energy and be cleaning my house at 10 at night, to which I replied, "Good God, can I get 10 or 12 refills???? Nolan will be thrilled!" LOL Alas, no, this stuff will mess up your system if you take too much, so I only get the one round. Pity. I'd love to feel good for more than a week. Even better than the feel-good week...the weight is still coming off. I weighed in at 169#; I haven't seen the 160s in about 10 years. It's the Topamax, my migraine medicine. One of the side effects is that it curbs your appetite. I love it. I've lost 40#. By the time Katie gets married in November, I'll be able to wear a real dress, not a tent. *G*
My many thanks to anyone who prayed that we get rain; it has been raining almost every day out here. The ground is soaked; there are puddles of standing water everywhere. Our grass is now green and lush. Our trees are blooming and happy. Willow and Taylor play in the puddles like children, splashing and skidding all over. We are so grateful.
Tomorrow is my 51st birthday; my sister is coming to spend the day with me. She'll visit with me while I *shudder* clean house. We're very close, and I know that we'll have a great day. Hubby and the grandsons are at the hunting lease, daughter is in Baton Rouge wrapping up some more wedding details, son is working, and my sis and I will end the day at my parents' house visiting. I have a sneaking suspicion that they're all going to descend upon my head Sunday. LOL
I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend....cool and dry.
Here's my new siggy that tells the world how I feel about exercise *G*
